Megan Jane is a Galway-based theatre maker, set designer, actress and producer.

Her Story

Megan Jane is an alumnus of the Drama, Theatre and Performance undergraduate at NUIG. She has had a passion for all things stage-related from the age of 5 when she joined InStep Stage School for tap, jazz and hip-hop. She performed through her teen years with B’Sloe Panto, and made a brief appearance on the All Ireland Talent Show when she was eleven with a tap dance group, ‘Gingham’. Megan Jane has worked on many shows in various capacities with NUIG’s Dramsoc and Galway University Musical Society. She has worked as a set assistant, head of set, costume assistant, director, actor and general all-around theatre maker. Her credits for set design include ‘Urinetown the musical.” ‘The Effect,' by Lucy Prebble, ‘Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches,’ by Tony Kushner, ‘Transitions: A Spring Awakening Play,’ devised by the NUIG DTP degree 3rd-year students, ‘Much Ado About Nothing,’ by William Shakespeare and ‘The Government Inspector.’ by Nikolai Gogol, adapted by Roddy Doyle and 'Not Like Other Girls' by HystERia theatre. She is now the General Manager for HystERia Theatre.

She recently stepped back on to the stage as a part of University of Galway's Active Consent The Kinds of Sex You Might Have at College for third level students. She will be attending the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in September to undertake an MA in Performance Designs (Set and Costume).
